Associate Professor of International Development at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO)A political scientist by training, my research is in the field of international relations and transnational history. I am interested in the evolution of Canada's foreign policy in Latin America, and more specifically, the articulation between extractive policies and Canadian development aid and human rights policies. I have analyzed the role and influence of human rights non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and Canadian mining companies in Latin America since the mid-twentieth century. My most recent research, funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec-Société et Culture (FRQSC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), focused on the ethical challenges of Canadian diplomacy in post-conflict states, notably Guatemala, Colombia and Honduras.

  • Human rights and corporate social responsibility
  • Humanitarian aid and managing the migration crisis in Central America
