Danielle Coenga-Oliveira is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Université de Montréal. She holds a PhD in Political Science and Feminist Studies from the Université du Québec à Montréal (2024), an MA in International Studies from the Université de Montréal (2016) and an MA in Social Psychology from the University of Brasilia - Brazil (2011). Her research engages discussions on gender, human rights, heteronormativity, coloniality, necropolitics and critiques of liberal democracy. Her current research focuses on anti-feminist-anti-gender politics. Drawing on (Afro)feminist, decolonial and poststructuralist perspectives, she analyzes the relationship between these policies, which run counter to the expansion of women's and LGBTQIA+ rights, and the process of de-democratization in Brazil.
